A leading provider of high quality training for the furniture and associated industries

WEBS Training Ltd is a national provider of quality Apprentice and Adult training for the furniture and associated industries. We deliver training to anyone within the industry either in their workplace or within one of our highly equipped workshops.

Training is towards a City & Guilds qualification in a variety of trades such as Cabinet making, Frame Making, Upholstery, Cutting and Sewing, Wood Machining, Polishing and Kitchen Installation. Click on the links on the right to find out more.

We were originally set up as a Training Association and were founded by four of Long Eaton’s major manufacturing companies, the title "WEBS” being derived from the company names:

The name, also being a play on the word "WEBSTER or Furniture Maker”.

Our main role as a Training Provider is to offer government sponsored City & Guilds approved Apprenticeship Training for the furniture and associated industries, promoting links with the industry, schools and Connexions service. We are also able to offer adult training within the workplace throughout the UK.

Additionally Webs offer further services to support the furniture industry such as Health & Safety, risk assessment and custom designed training courses.

Webs also work closely with the Kitchen Bedroom Bathroom National Training Group, Construction skills and Proskills National skills Academy, in developing new qualifications to meet the needs of the industries.

Webs Training Limited are committed to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. All staff share this commitment and undergo the appropriate checks. Our aim is to ensure that every apprentice is allowed to be trained in a safe environment and enjoys and receives a positive learning experience.

 

Webs Training Limited is committed to:

 

1.   Maintaining the highest possible standards to meet its social, moral and legal responsibilities   to safeguard the welfare of every apprentice

2.   Ensuring all staff working for Webs Training Limited have a responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every apprentice

3.   Regular monitoring of results of this commitment

 

Webs Training Limited will work in partnership with other agencies, to provide appropriate support and care for apprentices.

 

Webs Training Limited will act in ways that facilitate the development of good practice including:

 

·     Preventing abuse through safe recruitment polices for staff

·     Influencing good practice in work with other agencies

·     Providing safe and secure environments for learning where apprentices feel they can speak out

·     Encouraging apprentices to make informed decisions and choices about their own lives by listening and responding to their views

·     All staff will receive adequate safeguarding training and kept up to date with changes in legislation and laws

 

The protection and safety of children, young people and vulnerable adults is everyone’s responsibility. All staff, board members and others have a responsibility to make the learning environment safe and secure for all. Ignoring abuse is not an option.

 

The safeguarding (children, young people and vulnerable adults) policy has the full commitment of Webs Training Limited staff including the Board of Directors and will be reviewed annually by the Safeguarding Working Group or within four weeks of a review of any serious apprentice incident.
