Ambitions Study Programme

Our Ambitions Programme provides a flexible approach to match flexible courses to young people’s needs. This means they should be based on prior attainment and designed to meet clear educational and career aspirations.

This course is targeted at 16-18 year old NEET learners who are not quite ready to go into an apprenticeship and will prepare them to enter this field. The programme will provide learners with an opportunity to develop work related skills and experience taster sessions in various hands on practical trades, whilst working towards nationally recognised accredited qualification in employability with a view to progressing on to a Traineeship programme or a paid Apprenticeship.

What does the course include and how long will it last?

The course runs over 3 days a week for 20 weeks and includes taster sessions including:

  • Push Bike and Motor Bike Maintenance
  • Construction - Brickwork and Tiling
  • Joinery
  • Painting and Decorating

Employability Skills including, cv writing, job search and job applications.

Functional Skills, English and maths at your personal individual level.

The final six weeks of the programme are devoted to work or voluntary/community experience in the trade area of interest.

Work experience with an employer, voluntary or community work will help you to gain valuable work experience.
