Offender Learning

Offender LearningThe Employment Academy was launched on the 19 November 2014. It is an exciting new innovation developed in partnership with Milton Keynes College, HMP Sudbury, Whirlowdale and WEBS. This Academy has a focus on the Furniture Production Industry and provides vocational training and employment opportunities for offenders whilst in custody which will then lead to employment and further training upon release.

Whilst on the programme, offenders will be gaining real work experience, developing practical skills in assembly processes in frame construction, tool setting, operation and maintenance. They will cover current health & safety requirements in addition to developing core work skills such as working in a team to achieve production targets.

Our partnership with employers is a key feature in the Academy model. Employers wishing to support ex-offenders back into employment, please contact us on 01159 677771 or complete the enquiry form.
