Did you know that CSCS offer an Apprenticeship Card free of charge?
We have checked and made sure that our relevant courses, Fitted Interiors Installer, and Floorlayer, are both on the approved apprenticeship list to qualify for a free card – which now means any of our apprentices on these courses can apply!
This may be welcome news to employers who are investing in skills development with apprentices within their business – meaning that valuable on site training can take place to give the apprentice the best possible learning experience.
By offering this card for free, it is a way of showing appreciation to employers who are supporting youth skills development, or those re-training into construction, and helping close the skills gap.
"A CSCS card is a universally recognised certificate within the construction industry, providing instant credibility to the holder. Offering a free of charge CSCS card is a wonderful opportunity for all apprentices to be able to work in real life situations and strengthen their thorough knowledge of health and safety through practial application. Having an Apprentice CSCS card will open may doors for tradespersons and their apprentices."

The card is valid for four years and six months, longer than course lengths, meaning the learner can comfortably complete their course with their Apprenticeship card.
"At the moment a lot of flooring employers are looking to get their apprentices CSCS cards so they can work on site, so having an apprentice card available for free is absolutely fantastic. It offers commercial flooring businesses the opportunity to obtain cards for their apprentices so they have the option to use their apprentices on site."

The apprentice will still need to pass their HS&E certificate to get their card, however this is also supported by a CITB scheme, offering the certificate at a reduced cost of £20 – supporting both employer and apprentice.
