We have also been busy with shows, where we have been part of Long Point upholstery exhibition and The Flooring show with our partner training provider FITA. We have also visited the NBF Bed Show to see the latest in bed manufacture. All these events bring new developments and ideas for us here at WEBS, on how we can update our training to match the innovations in the industry.
Long Point brought engaging conversations with local employers, where we also got to meet Erewash MP, Dr Adam Thompson and talk about the importance of apprenticeships and Long Eaton Upholstery.
The Flooring Show gave us opportunity to see new trends and equipment being demonstrated by FITA, and talk to people about our incredibly successful Floorlayer apprenticeship.
The Bed Show gave us chance to see some fantastic developments in sustainability with new technologies and materials, along with lots of UK manufacturers of beautiful beds – food for thought on how we can develop our sessions on materials and environment.
We have been able to share our new brochures and course data sheets, which makes it easier than ever to talk to employers about our courses and the steps involved in taking on an apprentice – as well as the excellent service that we offer.
We have had learner achievements as well, with four learners completing their course - all graded Distinction - three for General Furniture Manufacturer and one for Modern Upholsterer. Well done!
Let’s hope October shares the same amount of excitement!
