WEBS have been working with Wickes as the training provider for the Wickes installation programme since 2018, with the first cohort of apprentices starting in 2019.
The programme has been such a success that WEBS expanded its training provision with Wickes to include bathrooms in 2024, with the first cohorts due to graduate in 2025.
The event took place on 27th November at The Royal Lancaster Hotel in London. Managing Director, Lorraine Jameson, attended the awards as the representative of WEBS says, “It is great that we have these awards to promote the success of alternative routes to higher education and university.”
“It is important to celebrate the individuals but also to give recognition to the companies who are investing in the next generation of their workforce. Wickes are a leader in apprenticeship investment for the furniture and furnishing sector, so it great to have attended the awards as their training provider.”
The Wickes training programme offers additional development to the training provided by WEBS, including business support for helping them set up their own business as an installer, supplier visits, and supplementary courses so the apprentices can offer additional services to their customers.
On the ongoing partnership with Wickes, Lorraine says “WEBS continue to work really well together with Wickes, as we both have shared goals of training above the apprenticeship standard to ensure the apprentices are the most prepared when they complete their course”
“We tailor our training to match Wickes’ goals and we support each other to get the best learning journey for each of our learners.”
