Privacy notices: an updated code of practice
All organisations that obtain or collect information about people (whether directly or indirectly), have a legal duty to process that information in a fair and transparent manner. The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has published a new code of practice on privacy notices that gives businesses practical guidance and advice on how to achieve this.
The code includes:
• What to include in a privacy notice;
• Where to deliver privacy information to individuals;
• When to actively communicate privacy information.
Details can be found on the Information Commissioner’s website: https://ico.org.uk/media/for-organisations/guide-to-data-protection/privacy-notices-transparency-and-control-1-0.pdf
