The successful candidate will undertake a wide range of key responsibilities, ensuring their development into a flexible, adaptive and proactive member of the organisation. They will learn and develop skills that will provide support to the head pharmacist and the other members of the team.

These duties will include:

  • Greeting customers and patients at the front counter and establishing their requirements in a supportive, sensitive, caring and friendly way through the use of clear questioning techniques and positive body language
  • Working on systems, equipment and technology to meet the needs of your customers, this will include operation of a card payment machine, computer and the refilling of the ROBOT automatic medication issuing machine.
  • Taking payment for goods in cash and on card.
  • Display active listening skills to establish the different needs and priorities of the customers and decided upon the best way to manage their expectations.
  • Remain calm and polite at all times remembering that due to the nature of the service, some customers may be ill, stressed or upset if they or their loved ones are poorly, so empathy and understanding is required.
  • Work as a supportive and pro-active team member being flexible to change priorities to support others when required including holiday cover and sick leave.
  • Develop a thorough understanding in the area of Product Knowledge and Stock Levels along with the services on offer at the Pharmacy.
  • Understand the different needs and priorities of the customers both internal (colleagues) and external (patients and members of the public).
  • Providing support to all departments and staff where required.
  • Undertaking administration duties to ensure productivity and customer satisfaction, paying attention to detail and checking requirements thoroughly.
  • Be well organised, punctual, reliable and flexible.
  • Be prepared to work flexible shifts including Saturdays where required.
