We are pleased to announce that Webs Training in partnership with our friends at the NC Group have been successful in our Application to compete in this years’ #RedBullSoapboxRace.

 

 

Out of 1000’s of applications our team #FastandFurnitureEngineeringTwist have made it through to the starting line of 60 and will be at the Ally Pally in London ready and rearing to go down the famous track on the 22 June 24. What a fabulous date for all diaries!

The collaboration of apprentices working together from 2 Independent Training Providers and across a number of disciplines will be an outstanding opportunity to showcase how different skills, trades and industries can work together to achieve and develop the behaviours, attitudes and skills of the apprentices to achieve a shared goal. The apprentices will have to work together to build a Soapbox having never meet before and understand, use and appreciate each and everyone’s skills set.

This is an excellent opportunity for these young people to form friendships and learn from each other using communication, problem solving and team building skills to say the very least, if not for this opportunity their paths may have never crossed.

The team name designed by the apprentices is “ Fast & Furniture – Engineering Twist” a play on words of the “Fast & Furious – Tokyo Drift” combines the occupational areas on offer from both Webs and NC Group. A hashtag of the same name is formed #FastandFurnitureEngineeringTwist.

 

What the Apprentices say:

“We are a group of young Furniture Manufacturing and Engineering Apprentices, and we have decided to put our skills to the test by producing a real-life replica of possibly the most iconic and instantly recognizable pieces of furniture in existence (the Simpson’s sofa). That also doubles up as a fully functioning soap box racer. We are super excited to represent our Training Providers, Webs Training and the NC Group and showcase all of the industry skills that we have learnt as Apprentices. Using our incredible skills we are going to PROVE to you all that Apprenticeships really do put you in the FAST LANE in life…..”
