What will the apprentice be doing?
  • Learn practical skills and techniques to produce and install different types of bespoke furniture including kitchens and bedroom furniture. 
  • Learn how to operate power tools and equipment to install furniture.
  • Become a skilled trade person.
  • Work within cemeterial and domestic setting installing furniture.
Training and qualification levels

During your apprenticeship programme you will receive training both off and on the job to gain the Fitted Interiors Installer Level 2 qualification. You will be required to attend WEBS Training in Beeston on a block release basis for a week at a time every 10 weeks, travel and accommodation is paid for by the employer, the remainder of your working week will be within the workplace. Training will be provided in all areas of Furniture Install to ensure you can create practical and bespoke furniture. 

The successful candidate will be trained in all aspects of Furniture Fitting through WEBS training programme as well as on-the-job training.

You will learn practical skills and to produce different types of furniture and units.

Most Installers work a range of hours to ensure that job is completed within the specified time. You may be working in people’s homes, so you will need to be respectful of people’s personal property and have excellent people skills.

Duties will include:

  • Assembly of kitchen doors and units
  • Marking out locations to install units
  • Levelling units
  • Fit units to location
  • Cut components
  • Operating a range of power tools including track saw, jigsaw, chop saw, SDS drills, battery drivers and routers
  • Use a range of hand tools including tapes, squares, levels, screwdriver and compass
  • Use of range of scribing techniques
  • Reading and working from technical drawings
  • Working from a component list that relates to the technical drawings
  • Working with mechanical mechanisms including doors, drawers and lift ups
  • Fitting of a range of components including plinth, cornice, pelmet, end panels, fillers and worktops, fillers, end panels, dividers, top and bottom rails
  • Scribing fillers to the contours of walls and around skirting
  • Identifying a range of timbers and materials
  • Working with customers
It is essential you drive and are within 20 miles of Worchester and be able to get to and from sites across the West Midlands. The apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to learn skills within the installation trade allowing you to gain a practical skilled trade. The company offer 1:1 training which will offer you a great chance to learn from a skilled tradesperson on a one-to-one basis.
